The Olowa of Igbara-Oke kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr. Francis Adefarakanmi Agbede, Ilufemiloye, (Ogidi III), has been honoured by the School of Management Technology of the Federal University of Technology, Akure with an award of Distinguished Industrial and Human Development Monarch Par Excellence.
The monarch who expressed his profound appreciation to the members of staff of the institution, said, it was a proud moment for him to be associated with the institution. He said this award is a motivating force for all his future activities into the services of human and capacity development.“This courage and confidence has only come in by the trust that the Federal University of Technology, Akure has in me, and I thank the entire management staff for this motivation and faith,” he said.
He said he was truly obliged for this great honour and recognition, and attributed the award to God and the good people that God surrounded him with who at all times support his vision in the areas of human and capacity development.
Oba Agbede also said the good people of Igbara-Oke kingdom are partner in progress, especially in the area of human capacity development. He said, Igbara-Oke is currently hosting RSG-320, Independent Field Mapping for students from the Department of Remote Sensing and GIS of the School of Earth and Mineral Sciences of the Federal University of Technology, Akure.
While commending the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Prof. Adeola Fuwape and the Dean of School of Management Technology, Prof. Tomola Obamuyi on the feats of the institution in the areas of management and capacity building, he said Igbara-Oke is ready and will continue to partner and support the course for human and capacity development endeavours.
