The Olowa of Igbara-Oke kingdom, a Prominent Oba in Ondo State, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Francis Adefarakanmi Agbede, Ilufemiloye, (Ogidi III) has congratulated Muslims as they celebrate this year Sallah, and urged them to continue to pray for the peace and unity of our dear country, Nigeria.
The monarch who spoke through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Ayodeji Owolabi at Igbara-Oke said this festive period gives us another opportunity to seek the face of Almighty God, (Allah) and intercede for our nation. He said we need to come together as one, irrespective our religion, ethnic or cultural backgrounds and be united so as to overcome various challenges facing our nation.
He said as Nigerians, we should reflect on the various challenges confronting us as people of one nation, and see that it require the cooperation of everyone, if we are to make any meaningful progress and build a greater Nigeria.He said they should see this season as a season to forgive and love one another.
Oba Agbede also commended the Muslim brethren in Igbara-Oke for their peaceful conduct, supports and contributions towards the development of Igbara-Oke kingdom. He therefore warned against hate speeches, as hate speeches jeopardize peaceful coexistence.
