H.R.M Oba Dr. Francis Adefarakanmi Agbede, Olowa of Igbara-Oke Kingdom led his Council of Chiefs into the town to clean the Environment

The Olowa of Igbara-Oke kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Francis Adefarakanmi Agbede, Ilufemiloye, (Ogidi III) today, charged the people of Igbara-Oke on cleanliness. He said cleanliness promotes healthy living. The monarch said this at Igbara-Oke, Headquarters of Ifedore Local Government Area during the August edition of monthly environmental sanitation.
Oba Agbede who went out with members of Council of Chiefs in Igbara-Oke, was also accompanied by the youths to clean-up the town. The monarch defied the heavy rain pour to join other residents and market men and women to clean the markets and ensure compliance of the exercise.
He also charged them to maintain cleanliness at all times, and not to wait for the compulsory exercise of last Saturday of the month. While commending on the role of the market women and men in the town at ensuring the compliance of regular sanitation, he also urged them to do more so that the town can be free from diseases dirty environment could cause.
The monarch also commended the efforts of the state government for the good work they have started and by at empowering the Environmental Enforcement Task team to enforce the participation of every citizen in the exercise. He said some people are fond of the habit of not complying. According to him, he said working in a clean environment is paramount to people’s safety. “If we clean our environment it is for our own good and safety.”
The youths, who came out in their numbers, also expressed their appreciation to towards the support His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Francis Adefarakanmi Agbede, Ilufemiloye, (Ogidi III) has been given them since his ascension to the throne of his forefathers. The leader of the youths, Chief Akanle Ibukun, also known as “Olori Odo” said Oba Agbede is a man of the people who believe in the development of Igbara-Oke without prejudice. According to him, he sees everybody as one, irrespective of where they came from.
His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Francis Adefarakanmi Agbede, Ilufemiloye, (Ogidi III) after the exercise prayed for the people of the town, and enjoined them to continue to live together in peace and harmony as they have been doing.
