Nigerians has been charged by the Olowa of Igbara-Oke Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr. Francis Adefarakanmi Agbede, to continue to live in love, peace and unity with one another irrespective of their religions, cultural and ethnic backgrounds. The monarch in his Democracy Day message through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Ayodeji Owolabi, said Nigeria belongs to us all, not one person or group of people is more important than the other in this country that we call our own.
He said as we commemorate the 19th Year Anniversary of uninterrupted democratic governance, we should not forget those who paid the price with their lives, and also remember the heroes and heroines who fought for the actualization of this course.
Oba Agbede said, as Nigerians, we should also reflect on the various challenges confronting us as people of one nation, and see that it requires the cooperation of everyone, if we are to make any meaningful progress and build a greater Nigeria. He said we have roles to play in rebuilding our nation, Nigeria and to desist from all forms of hate speeches and resist anyone who might seek to sow the seed of confusion for their own selfish or political gain.
He therefore urged everyone to continue to pray for the unity of Nigeria, to strengthen the spirit of oneness, regardless of religious, ethnic and cultural backgrounds, or political affiliations for that is the only way to overcome the present challenges facing our country.
